Site Safe Fall Prevention Platforms help to prevent falls from flatbed lorries & trailers while loading or unloading on rough or unmade ground or on first fix roadways on new construction sites.
According to figures published by the HSE, 60 people working in haulage and distribution were killed last year and another 23,000 suffered injury severe enough to keep them off work for three or more days. The HSE says the deaths were caused by four kinds of accident – most often during loading, unloading and maintenance work. These include falls from vehicles with most causing injury being from a height of only two metres or less. Falls in the road haulage industry caused 299 major injuries in the 2006/07 work year including one fatality. Over two thirds of these falls were from vehicles.
Fortunately, if you’ve been looking for a mobile Fall Prevention Platform capable of providing safe and level access to your vehicles while loading, unloading or strapping down on rough and unmade sites, our new LOAD ANGEL® “SITE SAFE” could be the solution you need. The platform is 6 metres long and provides access for one person to aid loading and unloading of delivery vehicles. The framework has been designed to give as much ground clearance as possible, to aid ease of movement on unmade and uneven surfaces and is mounted on 4 rough terrain puncture proof or pneumatic castors according to SWL ratings. Two of these castors are braked to prevent movement once the platform is positioned. Access to the platform is gained via a centrally mounted ladder with a gated entrance.
Developed in conjunction with HSE, this platform is manufactured within the guidelines of BS5395-1:2010 Stairs/Ladders/Walkways and the open steel flooring used for the floor to BS 4592 part 1 (2006) and is rated to general duty regular two way pedestrian traffic 5.0KN/m2. Castors can be nylon, rubber, pneumatic or punctureless of 120kg capacity.
The Site Safe EVO 2 framework has been designed to give as much ground clearance as possible to aid ease of movement on uneven surfaces and is mounted on 4 No 150kg rough terrain punctureless castors. Two of these castors are braked to prevent movement, once the platform is sited. Then the 4 No screw jacks are to be deployed prior to use to aid stability and/or level the platform when necessary.
